Update --HOUSE HAS BEEN REPAIRED FROM FALLING TREE AND CLASSES HAVE BEEN RESUMED. We had our first class last weekend. Went well and Anthony finished a great little skinner. Now is the time to lock in your date this summer. Weather will be changing for the good. Wow! 2016 was a busy year. Taught a couple dozen souls, two couples and many singles (Separately ) Classes are open again as our winter has been unusually mild. (. Just finished a class with Anthony who made a nice Skinner. Turned out nice especially a first one. Look for the great knives everyone has made. We teach a BASIC Knifemaking Class using the Stock Removal Method ( Convex Ground ) using Hi_Carbon Saw Steel. Mostly One on One or a sometimes a couple, so we can spend quality time with you. You will complete a nice drop point skinner knife with your choice of "in stock" handle material and steel, to take home and show off. If time allows we start work on a second knife.

If you are interested in a class in 2017, let us know. Lock in your class now. Classes are held here in Alta, California, an hour or so to North Lake Tahoe. Knifemaking Classes are usually a 2 days minimum (8 hours each -10am to 5:30 pm) and are $199.00 per day each.($399.00 Total) which includes materials for one knife ( or 2 ) and lunches both days. A 50% Deposit is required to lock in your class. Email or Call for more info. If you call and ask for class dates I will just tell you to pick some dates and we will work it out.

We are located in the Sierras about half way between Sacramento, Ca. and Reno,NV. Right off Interstate I-80.
